26.09.2006, Avis customers across Europe have welcomed the opportunity to rent a satellite navigation system along with their rental car, an option introduced by Avis in May this year as part of their Inspired Change campaign.

TomTom navigation systems are available to rent in over 40 major European rental stations including the main international hubs of Paris CDG, Amsterdam Schiphol and Frankfurt Airports. TomTom can be requested through the Avis Contact Centre in Barcelona, on 0848 81 18 18, subject to availability.

TomTom is a leading European company that specialises in navigation and travel solutions. Its navigation technology offers coverage across Europe including Great Britain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

“Inspired Change is all about offering our customers choice, and making not just the rental experience but also the driving experience as easy as possible. “Now our customers can pick up a rental car complete with satellite navigation, allowing them simply to enter their destination into the system and head off on their journey. It’s quick and easy and, whether they’re travelling for business or leisure, our customers find it a definite bonus.”

Avis launched its Inspired Change programme in spring 2006 following extensive research amongst Avis employees and nearly 13,000 customers across Europe. Inspired Change has introduced a jargon-free Rental Agreement, clearer car groups, a Fuel Up Front refuelling option and Avis Choice Fleet in the UK. These ideas for change and others were inspired by Avis employees who wish to make life even better and more transparent for their business and leisure customers. It is a long term commitment and a promise to continuously improve and innovate. It is not a one off but part of the ‘We Try Harder’ philosophy.
